PharmaDM, NV was established in November 2000 as a spin-off from the Universities of Leuven (Belgium), Aberystwyth (Wales, United Kingdom), and Oxford (England, United Kingdom).

The Company has raised 2.6 million Euro of seed and venture finance to date, comprising seed funding of 1.1 million Euro from the Gemma Frisius Fund (K.U. Leuven), the Aberystwyth Challenge Fund (University of Wales Aberystwyth, UK), the Oxford University Challenge Seed Fund and first round venture capital financing of 1.5 million Euro in January 2002 from Fagus (the early stage high-tech fund of Fortis Private Equity (55%) and EIF (45%)) KBC Investco and the Gemma Frisius Fund.

PharmaDM, NV - provider of drug discovery analytic solutions, has perpetual exploitation and development licenses from the founding universities for 3 relational data mining engines, and co-owns ilProlog, today's fastest Prolog system (a special purpose database system) with the K.U.Leuven.
